Learning Modalities

All of our training classes reflect evidence-based medicine and educational research.

Classes are available in various learning modes:

Traditional In-Person: These classes involve a group of people (usually 5 or more) who complete the entire class in a traditional classroom setting.  Depending on the class, a written test may be required.  Students can use all resources available to them during the test, and there is no set time limit.

Blended Learning: There are two components to these types of classes.  The student first completes an online training program. Written tests, if required, are integrated into the computer-based program.  After successful completion, the student will attend an in-person (or virtual) meeting in a small group (usually 1-3 people) with a live instructor to learn, practice, and demonstrate mastery of psychomotor skills.

Challenge: This mode is intended for students who have recertified several times already, and are very comfortable with the class material.  It is completed in two parts:  First, the student will complete the written test.  Students can use all resources available to them, and there is no set time limit.  After successful completion, the student will attend an in-person (or virtual) meeting in a small group (usually 1-3 people) with a live instructor to demonstrate their mastery of psychomotor skills.

Virtual: Sometimes it is difficult to meet in a single location. For classes that can lend themselves to online meetings, it may be possible to hold all or part of the class in this manner.  Students will meet up online, and will be required to appear live on screen with their microphones available at all times.
