CPR/AED for Camps

This course is one of the few CPR courses approved by the New York State Department of Health for Summer Camp Directors.

Students taking this course will learn how to perform chest compressions and deliver breaths using a pocket face mask, the use of a Bag-Valve-Mask (BVM) for ventilation, team dynamics to help improve resuscitation outcomes, and indications for Narcan (naloxone hydrochloride) administration.  Students taking this course will be expected to pass a written exam. Certification  through the American Heart Association is awarded immediately upon completion.  A version of this class is also available through the National Safety Council.
Usual class time: – 3.5 – 4 hours
