This class is specially designed for dentists who do not practice conscious sedation and are not required to fulfill requirements of a hospital or university (s)he affiliates with or teaches resulting in AHA-branded BLS.
Students will learn how to recognize the signs and symptoms of a heart attack, perform chest compressions, deliver breaths utilizing a pocket face mask and bag mask device, use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), relieve choking, and place a victim into the recovery position. Both adult and child victims will be covered.
There is no written exam for this class. This class ends in certification through the National Safety Council and is approved by the New York State Department of Education.
Usual class time: 2.5 – 3 hours
