This class reviews the types of emergencies that you may encounter at home, in the work place or in your everyday life. We will review how to keep yourself and others safe in an emergency and what your first actions should be to help. Topics covered include bleeding, injuries to bones, muscles and joints, poisonings, heat and cold emergencies, allergic reactions, diabetic emergencies, strokes, seizures and heart attacks. A variation of this course is also available to teach children how to help out in an emergency.
Usual class time: 2 – 2.5 hours
All of our classes meet the 2015 International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation Guidelines for Emergency Cardiac Care.
