Citizen First Aid Course

This class reviews the types of emergencies that you may encounter at home, in the work place or in your everyday life. We will review how to keep yourself and others safe in an emergency and what your first actions should be to help. Topics covered include bleeding, injuries to bones, muscles and joints, poisonings, heat and cold emergencies, allergic reactions, diabetic emergencies, strokes, seizures and heart attacks. A variation of this course is also available to teach children how to help out in an emergency.

Professional First Aid Course

While this course covers all of the topics in the citizen-level class, it is intended for public safety personnel and professionals who are expected to provide First Aid on a regular basis as a part of their everyday routine. Students taking this course will learn additional assessment and treatment techniques and will be expected to pass a written exam. A version of this class is also available for wilderness goers and scout groups.
